Dec £150 for John Rees as coach to Cadets in Copenhagen. Individuals saw Isabella Summers win silver and Edward Payne bronze. In the teams the women won both gold and bronze and the men bronze. Many of the fencers were supported by Sport England.
Nov £350 for ME Team entry at Berne World Cup -32 teams, Gb ranked 27 drew Japan (6th) and lost 45-37 (having beaten them in Vancouver). Japan were 4th.
October £760 for travel expenses for a physio and team entry for Senior Womens Epee at Tallinn. Leonora MacKinnon (6th in individual) . Team comprised Susan Sica, Kat Smith Taylor, Danielle Lawson, Bethan Plant . Team out in L32 to Estonia who lost to USA in L8.
August Grant £500 for Oana Puiu to coach five ME Elite team training sessions over the 2019/20 period.To be held at the Lansdowne Club who are generously donating the Salle and facilities free. Paul Sanchez- Lethem is co-ordinating. It is hoped team training /spirit will be further improved.
July Grant of £500 for John Rees as Epée team coach at the 2019 Euros in Budapest and to fund team entry fee.
June Grant £1000 to the Epée Club to contribute to the costs of running the Epée Club Cup. The Competition is for 36 fencers from a broad range of age groups both men and women and will offer cash prizes this year. Competition won by Will East from Greg Allen.
May Commit £1050 3x £350 to fund three team entries - ME team at Monal/Paris and Buenos Aires and WE team in Dubai WCup. In Paris Paul Sanchez, Calum Maynard & Phil Marsh fought Vietnam in 1st match up to 15-13 all was good but then GBR faltered to loose 35-45. In Dubai the team was Fiona Grant, Katrina Taylor & Susan Sica. 1st round draw vs Estonia(6th seed) was lost 45-25- but gained 8 FIE points. Both competitions opened the 2020 Tokyo qualifying season.
March Fund ME team entry at Buenos Aires WC. Two individual placings - last 32 and 64 - meant high spirits on meeting Italy in last 32. Paul Sanchez Lethem, Elliott Grover and Philip Marsh put in a spirited effort against world No5 but lost 45-32.
Feb Funds Womens Senior team entry at Barcelona where they loose narrowly to China 41/45. Sica gains a 30th in the individual.
