Gold Medal at the Veteran's World Championships.

Big congratulations to EC member Georgina Usher who took gold medal in the Cat A (50+) Women’s Epee competition in Daytona, Florida on Sunday 15th Oct.

Fencing in a field of 48 Georgina was undefeated throughout to become 2023 World Champion!

Sue Uff fencing in the 70+ age group finished a creditable 6th out of 28.

Both Sue and Georgina fenced in the team event, with the team finishing 5th.

The men’s epee events were similarly very strong, 55 taking to the piste in the 60+ age group and 69 in the 50+ age group. Neal Mallett and Hugh Kernohan finishing 7th and 12th respectively in the 60+ age group with Greg Allen coming 26th in the 50+. The team finished 8th in the team competition.

Again congratulations to Georgina for her World Championship win, and well done to all our club members who were selected, trained throughout the summer and travelled to the USA and fenced in the 2023 Veteran’s World Championships.
