Marmalade 2024

Six fencers and an equal number of spectators braved the bank holiday traffic to turn out at Iffley village Church Hall on Saturday for the annual Marmalade Challenge hosted by club member Edmund Gray.

After some very close fights, many going to time, Neal Mallett emerged as overall victor with four victories. Three fencers, Nigel Fancourt, Kola Ayanwale and Rob Gore were equal on 3 victories. Rob taking the second on indicators and Nigel third. Rob and Sue Brooks finishing in a respectful 5th and 6th place.

In support were club members David Partridge (Hon President), Brian Hill (vice President), Ken Pearman and host Edmund Gray. Also spectating and giving their much appreciated help during the day were Fran Pearman and Barberine Mallett. Our many thanks go to Edmund, and the members of the WI for the prizes.
