MATT COOPER WINS 2022 EPEE CLUB CUP

Club President David Partridge presents the EPEE CLUB CUP to 2022 winner Matt Cooper

After a 2 year hiatus due to covid restrictions, the Epee Club Cup returned to the Leon Paul Fencing Centre today (12/06/22). 34 fencers in two poules of 17, including 9 club members, fought out the poule stage with 4 from each poule progressing to a DE of 8. This included EC club members Marc Burkhalter and Greg Allen. From the eight Callum Maynard, Ben Andrews, Matt Cooper and Will East successfully navigated their way to the semi finals and after two very close semi final bouts Callum and Matt faced each other in the final, with Matt Cooper coming out the winner.

The Epee Club wishes to thank Leon Paul for their support in holding the competition, Alain Barbasiewicz our Hon Sec for all his hard work in organising the event. Thanks also go to the referees Howard West, Malcolm Alton and Jon Willis. Club Members Rob & Sue Brooks, Pat Casey and club President David Partridge gave their support throughout the day.
