New EC member Hugh Kernohan wins Gold at the British Veterans National Championships in Manchester.

EC members were out in force at the weekend at the British Veterans Fencing (BVF) Championships held at the Manchester Fencing Centre. New member Hugh Kernohan won a Silver medal in the men’s epee competition and Gold medal for being the highest ranked cat 3 fencer. Georgina Usher took Gold in the women’s epee competition and Gold for the cat 2 winner.

Sue Uff won 2 Gold medals over the weekend, being the highest placed cat 4 fencer in the women’s foil and women’s epee.

Also competing: Men’s epee, Greg Allen, Kola Ayanwale, Rob Brooks, Lawrence Burr, Stephen Domek, Neal Mallett, Anton Pollard, Jonathan Stanbury. Women’s epee, Mariette Mason.

Sue Brooks gave robust support to all, while demonstrating the progress in her recovery following the knee replacement.
