The “Call to Arms” Answered
In line with the Epée Club Charitable Fund’s aims, the Trustees were delighted to announce in early December 2019 the provision of a budget of £15,000.00 for épéeists in the 2020 season. The announcement across the BF Website included the following;
“It is therefore with great pleasure that the Trustees can now announce the sum of £15,000.00 has been allocated for 2020 to support a range of initiatives including the provision of ADP coaches to travel with Cadet and Junior teams, team entries for Senior World Cups, squad training sessions with high quality épée coaches and an épée coach development course in the Spring of 2020.”

Epée Club Cup Cancelled
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions the 2020 Epée Club Cup competition, due to be held on June 7th, has been cancelled.

Covid-19 Update
At a very well attended (“there was nothing else to go to”) Committee meeting on Sunday 15 March, the feeling was we should hold the AGM as planned. What a difference a week makes. All members will be aware of current advice from HMG, and in the last few days messages have been received from both the Naval Club and the Hurlingham.

Lavradio 2019 - 2020
Our penultimate meeting of the 2019-20 season saw a good number of us convene at the Lansdowne Club yesterday, for the rescheduled Lavradio Cup.
We ran a pool unique which was comprised of Phil Barbasiewicz, Steve Bateman, Tony Bowran, Rob and Sue Brooks, Anton Pollard, myself, and then Laurie Laschetti and Neal Skinner of the Lansdowne. We were also joined by John Glasswell and Steve Lennox.

Colonel Hay One Hit
Our last meeting of 2019 saw us at the Lansdowne Club earlier in the week for the Colonel Hay One Hit and Christmas dinner. A number of last-minute withdrawals resulted in a small but perfectly formed pool of 5: Andrew Brannon, Lawrence Burr, Mariette Mason, David Partridge and myself.
